Season of Forgiveness

And when the last snow falls to the ground
with nothing but a distinct sound,
does that mean that snow falls no more
and will our fate be ever more sure.
If the season brings about good cheer,
for me it brings us every near
to a decision that I alone must make
and a new road I alone must take.
And on this road I tread steadily on,
supposedly with my regret long gone
and with our past simply a mere memory,
all your faults but part of a sad romantic story.
Yet human is me,
and woe my humanity
for thinking that it is too hard to forget
not long ago we were like a set.
A pair of two, a pair of doves,
a pair of friends or a pair in love,
a pair of two hurt hearts who needed mending,
or a pair of friends who were just pretending.
Still a set, now no longer does it exist,
and in its wake it has created a rift.
So the season brought it to an end
supposedly it was time to mend,
to forgive and move on as if it were a dream
and I was made to awake it seems.
And so the past has faded into nothing
with our mistakes but a sheer passing
and with the new year just around the corner,
it seems as if I hate you no longer.
Even if forgiveness be part of the season,
it still does not give you a reason,
to forget everything that was or is,
because I for one shall not savor in the bliss
of ignorance.

Won’t you darling?

When barriers break
and hearts don’t ache,
wake me, won’t you darling?

When pigs do fly
and lovers don’t lie,
call me, won’t you darling?

When the sun grows cold
and our nights together old,
hold me, won’t you darling?

When true love is untrue
and I’ve finally lost you,
kill me, won’t you darling?

Story of a Leaf

The leaf that tumbled in the wind
knew not where its destiny lay,
for in its past a dream arose
one bright and sunny day.

When spring had just awoken
and the leaves were alive with dew,
a tree stretched out its arms
and said hello to the season anew.

As the leaves sprouted forth
and grew slowly as each day passed,
one little leaf watched the passing folk
as they walked briskly past.

It watched as their legs took them
to places it never could
and wished, oh wished that one day soon
it could escape from its neck of the wood.

Swaying ever so slowly,
the wind let it move at its pace
and gave the leaf a little hope
as it swayed on for countless days.

And when the leaf dreamt no longer
and slowly lost its faith,
one day the wind grew stronger
and from the tree, swept it away.

And so the leaf had finally
said goodbye to its home the tree,
letting the wind blow it slowly
it felt happy, excited and free.

For days on end it traveled far,
saw many people on the streets,
it traveled where the wind took it
and didn’t choose who it had to meet.

It told itself how lucky
its life had been so far,
how it escaped the tired fate
of simply watching from afar.

So days had passed and it went on
following the pace of the wind,
one day it soon grew weary,
losing its shimmer from within.

Without the tree it had no way
to get its green color back,
it soon lost strength and quietly hoped
it wouldn’t fade to black.

Sadly one day the wind grew strong
and pushed the leaf somewhere,
at first it saw the light of day,
then soon it couldn’t feel the air.

The leaf found out it had fallen
to a sewer down below,
without the people, the air, the tree,
it felt there was nowhere else it could go.

It tried to cry but couldn’t
as it lay there in the dark,
it tried to remember the good old days
when it still lived in the park.

Soon the leaf already felt and knew
he was slowly dying away,
away from home and family,
and away from the light of day.

“So goodbye leaf, goodbye”
it quietly said to itself,
and it crumpled away to dust
with nothing more left.

How much it hurts

January 20, 2009

You don’t know how much it hurts
Everytime I see the way you look at her
The way she makes your frown turn upside down
I wish that it was I that did

You don’t know how much it hurts
Everytime I see you with her
How it pains me
To watch you hold her close

You don’t know how much it hurts
Everytime I dream about you
Sometimes, of us together
Waking to find it all gone

You don’t know how much it hurts
Everytime you call out her name
With such passion and emotion
If only it were me you would yearn for

You don’t know how much it hurts
Everytime I hear you say, “I love you”
It aches me so much
Knowing that it will never be for me

Munting Pangarap

Pinapangarap  ko
Na ikaw ay mapasaakin
Aking dinamdam habang buhay
Na aking ginusto ay iyong tuklasin

Kung sana lang, alam mo rin
Kung gaano kita minamahal ng buo
Na kaya kong ibigay sa iyo
Lahat ng makakaya ko

Binubuhos ko
Kahit hindi mo nahahalata
Lahat ng pag-ibig
Na aking nadarama

Araw-Araw, Gabi-Gabi
Sa malayo lang kita nakikita
Minsan halata, minsan hindi
Puso ko ay napapagod na

Kung sabihin mo lang
Ang gusto kong marining
Sa katotohanan, alam ko naman
Na yan ay hindi mo sasabihin
kailan man

Dreams

Dreams
On its boundaries I tread
Leading me to a fantasy realm
As fiction pops into my head

Reality in distortion
The imagination in hyperdrive
The body in unconscious form
Creativity in the mind

Time has no meaning
Wishes have no end
Until the light of morning comes
In my world I will pend

Knights saving damsels
Fairies of the night
Monsters under my bed
Angels taking flight

Places yet to be found
People yet to be met
Stories yet to be told
Fate yet to be set

Dawn’s first streak of light
A fairytale out in the blue
Fiction becomes reality
Dreams do come true

Psalm of Life

January 16, 2009

In this life that we live in We should live without regret
For sadness and depression
Is like a step closer to death

Through this road we have to walk through
One must hold his head high
Be proud and be confident
Don’t stop to question, “Why?”

When faced with problems
Don’t stop to think of giving up hope
Just keep going and believing in yourself
For God will give you strength to cope

Even when the world
Seems to turn against you
Just have the determination
You’re sure to make it through

After everything you’ve experienced
Don’t forget this one thing
Thank God for giving you comfort
Through all your trials and sufferings

Trapped

No chains to hold me down The sky, no boundaries
The sea, limitless
I go where I please

The air
fresh and clean
The wind
it feels like freedom

The water
cool and clean
The waves
refreshing on the beach

I yearn for what
I cannot have
I dream of where
I cannot go

Freedom, aspiration
Hope and Desire
They mean nothing
because I am trapped

Death, I am indebted to you

Death, Are you my foe or my friend?
Dare I tread on your territory?

Why take away those I love?
Take me instead.
Free me from this burden…
life

Death,
do I really know you?

Sometimes I yearn for you
And sometimes I fear you
I stand in awe of your power
Yet I am also afraid of it

I wish to be away from all this pain
To be alleviated from all these sufferings
To one day wake up
but alive no more

Sometimes, I dream
My hopes and aspirations strong
How can I fulfil all of them
If you take me away

Death,
do I confuse you?
I can’t seem to make up my mind

You come to free me
Only to find out that I have changed my mind

Eternal Sleep…

Death
I shall not forget
When you come to take me away
I will be in your debt

So take me now
Before I change my mind
I will aways be thankful
for your deed so kind

Death, I am indebted to you

Suicidal, with details…

Cut Curiosity, new experience
then stop
Problems
Can’t help it
blade marks etched on the skin
finding pleasure in self-pain

Cutting, deeper and deeper
Painful, unbearable
Ecstasy overwhelming it all
Sight of blood, invigorating

It hurts, inside and out
Each cut
a reminder of painful memories
Scarred forever

Cowardice?
A way to escape life and its harshness
Bear the pain
Momentary pain for
release from this evil world

It ends….
Curiosity killed the suicidal girl

Melody

The melody Haunting me
Awake or asleep
I hear it taunting me

It won’t leave me in peace
Even in my dreams
I can still feel it
Never ending

Like a sweet melody
It lulls me to sleep
Only, i never wake up

So soft…
I can hear the tunes
The wind carries it to me

There is no use running
It will only hunt me down

Embrace the melody
Don’t fear it
Don’t fight it

Storybook Lover

I am lying down on my bed a book wide open in my hand My raven hair spilling into the pillows As I turn to the next page
I find myself in a storybook land

A dream and a reality merged into one
I awaken in an unknown place
Noticing only the air fresh and my surroundings beautiful
From nowhere, a man suddenly appearing in front of my face

With rugged features and a strong body
He is my knight in shining armor
He lifts me unto his horse, carrying me away
Sweet passion erupts and I become his paramour

Days pass, pure ecstasy filling each second
I live each day as if there is no tomorrow
Each night, reaching high unto the Heavens
My body reaching the highest high and the lowest low

Together forever he had said to me
This was a promised shared with a special bond
A glorious month passing as fast as a year
In happiness and in sond

Walking around, we find ourselves in a familiar place
Where started the happiest moments of my life
We lay down on the grassy lawn, the wind emitting a sweet melody
Slowly falling asleep as my mind dreams, memories still rife

Waking up once again, I am back in my bed
Gone is my knight in shining armor
The book is still open, I start to close it
But I stop as I stare into the words, “The lord saying, gone is my raven-haired paramour”

Mother Nature Playing God’s Melody

In the barren waste of nothingness Surrounding me in the form of a loud sandy storm
Arousing from sleep when the trickles of rain could be heard
The beauty and splendor formed,
Mother Nature

The sound of the birds in the trees
In the window next to where I am seated in class
Helping me to pass the hour away
As I dream myself running in the beautiful green grass
Playing

The flowers calling to me from outside
Tapping the glass as if calling me
The wide-open space is so welcoming and fresh
As I lay myself down, I stare at the sky and see
God

The sound of rain pouring outside
The feel of the wind blowing away my fears
It’s comforting and soothing as it plays a tune
That lulls me to sleep…in a sheer
Melody
